Editing
I edit journalism, business writing, websites, and non-fiction books. My involvement varies, according to customer requirement, from a light copyedit/proofread, to more extensive involvement as a developmental editor or collaborative author.
I'm also experienced in coordinating production of publications--guiding them from conception to design to printing or publication online, coordinating the skills of writers, editors, designers, photographers, and printers or webmasters.

If you want an editor who'll notice the subtleties, if you need a researcher who'll find what you need -- even the stuff you didn't realize you needed -- if you want someone who never gets ruffled and always gets the writing done on time, then I recommend Neil. Whenever he works with us at ElectricSun, we have the same experience: professional work ethic, no drama, well-written copy. --John Cowhig, President, ElectricSun Communications Non-fiction book--reviewed and made detailed suggestions. Kathy Ross has written a powerful and compelling true story of her relationship, in this life and in past lives, with her newfound love--a man she met along her spiritual journey who was meant to be her life partner in this lifetime. Written with candor and openness, their story pulls one into a larger view of life and of our own relationships. For anyone seeking the truth about their own life and spiritual journey, this is a deep and meaningful book.

Co-authored, edited, coordinated production of eight-page brochure for Diarotech SA, a Belgian firm specializing in the manufacture of finished and semi-finished diamond-impregnated
products for the mining and oil and gas industries. Design by Form Creative, Victoria. (July - Aug 2013) Non-fiction book--reviewed, made detailed suggestions, copyedited.
This book makes me feel good about life and inspired to take on its myriad challenges. The overarching theme of Forever Fulfilled is simple and extremely practical: we already have the tools and resources we need to successfully negotiate the ups and downs of life, and enjoy the process as we go. We just need a little coaching--and Jay Gardner is a great coach! --Amazon review (2012) (See testimonial by Jay Gardner here.) Edited several issues of the semi-annual magazine of Maharishi International University in Iowa. Also edited two issues of their annual University Review, a report summarizing the university's achievements. I played a key role in upgrading the magazine from a black and white tabloid with only straight news reporting to a colour publication using a broad range of writing techniques, including story-telling, creative leads, description, characterization.
Neil is an excellent writer, and experienced as a publicist and editor. He was my student in a graduate program in professional writing while interning as editor of the university's magazine. He did a fine job with that publication. After he graduated, he worked full time under me as a public affairs officer for the university. One press release in particular stands out in my mind. When Vedic City, which is near Fairfield and which has strong ties to the university, was incorporated in 2001, he saw that as an opportunity. For some reason it wasn't as evident to me, but Neil was confidant and went ahead. We ended up getting a surprising amount of national publicity out of that. Neil is always cordial and warm and easy to work with. I recommend him highly.
